MODULAR CONSTRUCTION

Modular Construction: for this project please create a sculpture constructed from multiples of a single common object. You can choose to make it large, or small, and you can choose any item that you can get in bulk. You should be able to find things in packages of 100, 1000, or cheaply purchase as many as you need for the sculpture. Shop wherever you might usually shop, or go to places like Home Depot, or Scrap. While constructing the sculpture, please consider the material choices that you have made. Think about the “material history”, and why you chose this specific item to work with. What is the item used for? How does society view it? Are there any political, environmental, academic, or cultural meanings that might be discussed when your viewers see the piece.
